Statement of Understanding Regarding Billing of Insurance

Insurance is considered a method of reimbursing the patient for fees paid to the doctor and is not a substitute for payment.  Although we may be billing your insurance company for all or portions of your services, you are ultimately responsible for all charges incurred. Some companies pay fixed allowances for certain procedures, others pay a percentage of the charges, and some do not pay at all for some charges.  It is the patient’s responsibility to pay any deductible amount, co-insurance, or any other balance not paid for by your insurance. Please be fully informed of your insurance plan details and be prepared to pay for uncovered amounts at the time of service.

Regarding Cataract Surgery

If you are having cataract surgery, you will be required to pay, prior to surgery, any non covered costs such as co-pays, co-insurance amounts and deductibles related to your upcoming cataract surgery. There are now options for multifocal and astigmatism correcting intraocular implants as a way of more fully correcting your vision during cataract surgery!  Consider utilizing Care Credit as an avenue for financing the out of pocket expenses that your insurance carrier does not cover. Once you have called your insurance to obtain your benefit information and understand what out of pocket costs you will incur, you may then contact Vision Care Specialists and speak with our cataract surgical coordinator, Jenny, to discuss scheduling your procedure as well as your financing options and to make payment arrangements required prior to your surgery date.

Financing

Finances should not stand in the way of better eye health. To better serve our patients in Aurora and other Denver area locations, we accept most medical insurance plans and most vision plans, however, it is your responsibility to understand exactly what YOUR insurance DOES and DOES NOT cover.  We accept all major credit cards, personal checks with ID and cash payments. A member of our knowledgeable staff is happy to answer any questions you have about payments and financing.
