Custom LASIK
Custom LASIK is an improvement upon the traditional LASIK procedure, which takes into account the unique topography of your eye and cornea. The precision associated with custom LASIK means clear, crisp vision for patients, who report better night vision, reduced glare, and better quality of vision. Our surgeons at Vision Care Specialists are proud to offer groundbreaking Custom LASIK technology to our patients in Denver, Highlands Ranch, Aurora, and Lakewood. Contact us for a free consultation to see if you are a candidate.
Using Wavefront technology to acquire three dimensional measurements of your eye, custom LASIK technology provides a comprehensive look into your unique refractive error and possible aberrations. The computer sends these measurements to the excimer laser, which in turn adjusts the laser pulse to reshape the cornea to these precise measurements, even if the eye moves during treatment. Custom LASIK provides accurate results to dramatically improve your vision.
The primary benefit of custom LASIK is an improvement to the quality and quantity of your vision. Custom LASIK is associated with a decreased risk of side effects typically associated with traditional LASIK, such as dry eye. The precision that characterizes this state-of-the-art technology improves the level of vision correction. Vision results are often 20/20 or better because the custom LASIK technology takes into account the individual vision errors unique to each patient.
As with traditional LASIK, the ideal candidate for custom LASIK is healthy with a vision prescription that has remained stable for at least a year prior to the treatment. Candidates also have visual aberrations that may affect the quality of their vision.
Other considerations associated with custom LASIK include the thickness of the cornea, the size of the pupil, the existence of corneal scarring, and history of an eye condition. Our surgeons will assess whether you are a good candidate for custom LASIK during your free consultation.
The experienced surgeons at Vision Care Specialists offer custom LASIK at our offices in Denver, Aurora, Highlands Ranch, and Lakewood. See if you’re a candidate for this innovative, personalized treatment—schedule an appointment today!
