LASIK
LASIK laser eye surgery is a popular treatment to improve the vision of those who are nearsighted, farsighted, or have astigmatism. A quick, in-office procedure, LASIK uses a laser to reshape the cornea, located in the front of the eye, to dramatically improve vision. LASIK has been used to treat refractive errors for two decades and offers a low-risk, minimally invasive way to reduce your dependency on glasses or contacts. We offer blade-free custom LASIK laser eye surgery at our offices in Denver, Aurora, Highlands Ranch, and Lakewood. Contact us today for a consultation to see if LASIK is right for you.

LASIK—laser assisted in situ keratomileusis—is an eye surgery in which a laser is used to reshape the front of the eye to improve nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. During the procedure, a flap is created with the top—epithelial—layer of the cornea. Once the flap is folded back, a computerized excimer laser is used to gently sculpt the curvature of the cornea. Once enough tissue is removed, the flap is replaced over the cornea without the need of stitches.
As with any surgical procedure, refractive surgery begins with an initial consultation. During the consultation, one of the qualified optometrists at Vision Care Specialists will measure the refractive error of each eye and assess your candidacy for the LASIK procedure using sophisticated tests. Innovations in LASIK technology have allowed many patients who may have not been considered candidates in the past the chance to permanently improve their vision.
We understand that the decision to have LASIK laser eye surgery is important; as such, we take the time to discuss the options available, the laser best suited to your eye, and answer any questions you may have regarding the procedure and your expected results. This line of communication will remain open even through your recovery process.
At Vision Care Specialists, we offer free LASIK screenings to our patients in the Denver, Aurora, Highlands Ranch, Lakewood, and the surrounding communities. See if LASIK laser eye surgery is an ideal way to correct your refractive error. Contact us today!
