At Vision Care Specialists, surgical visions solutions are elevated through the thoughtfulness and compassion of Dr Kouyoumdjian (we call him Dr K), a fellowship trained corneal surgeon with steady hands, nerves of steel, and tens of thousands of successful Colorado eye surgeries. Dr K utilizes our exclusive LifeFit™ Approach to identify the right surgical option to help you experience life in high-def.
LASIK: or “laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis,” is the most commonly performed laser eye surgery to treat myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism. The LASIK procedure reshapes the cornea to enable light entering the eye to be properly focused onto the retina for clearer vision.
Implantable Contact Lenses (ICLs): function like contact lenses to correct nearsightedness. The difference is that ICLs work from within your eye instead of sitting on the surface of your eye and offer a permanent correction of myopia, unless the lens is surgically removed.
Cataract Surgery & Intraocular Lenses (IOLs): Artificial intraocular lenses, or IOLs, replace the eye’s natural lens that is removed during cataract surgery. Traditional IOLs are monofocal, meaning they offer vision at one distance only (far, intermediate or near). The new premium multifocal and accommodating IOLs offer the possibility of seeing well at more than one distance, without glasses or contacts.
Corneal Transplants: replaces damaged tissue on the eye’s clear surface, due to disease or eye injury, with healthy corneal tissue.
Glaucoma Surgeries: glaucoma surgery is initiated to manage intraocular fluid to reduce or eliminate the need for costly prescription eye drops.
Emergency Eye Surgery Denver: Dr K is on call at The Medical Center of Aurora, Sky Ridge Medical Center and Swedish Medical Center to help us manage your emergency eye surgery needs.
Vision Care Specialists could have any eye surgeon on our team. We choose Dr K; you should too.
