Dr. Rheda Gerlock, Board Certified by the American Board of Optometry, is a native of Lamar, Colorado. She attended Colorado State University for undergraduate studies and completed her professional studies at the Southern California College of Optometry. She interned at the Whiteriver Indian Hospital in Whiteriver, AZ and at the VA Hospital in Brentwood, California. Postgraduate studies include advanced ocular therapeutics, cataract, glaucoma and refractive surgery management. Dr. Gerlock is the first optometrist with Vision Care Specialists to become board certified by the American Board of Optometrists. This important step shows her commitment to lifelong learning. Her honors include Who’s Who of American Women, Optometric Association Young Optometrist, and Denver’s Women Business Leaders. Dr. Gerlock has been in private practice since 1984 with a special interest in family and children’s vision care, contact lenses, glaucoma, and laser vision correction.
She is married and has a daughter. She keeps busy with cooking, gardening, and cycling. Dr. Gerlock has been twice recognized with the Wendy DeBell Exceptional Volunteer Award. She continues to be a very active volunteer in the Cherry Creek School District and Colorado Children’s Hospital.
