With the New Year fast approaching, it’s high time we all got to thinking about how to celebrate. Whether you love or hate the New Year’s Eve ritual, you likely want to find some way to enjoy the moment. We’ve polled our team here at Vision Care Specialists and wanted to suggest a few ideas for a fun and festive New Year’s in Denver.
What to Do For New Year’s in Denver
Host a Game Night Party! If you’re one of the many people who don’t like to go out on New Year’s eve, create your own fun with a game night. Games like Scattergories—the branded version of the classic Categories game where players must dream up as many representatives of a category all beginning with the same letter, with a time limit—are fantastic for lots of people. Another excellent choice, especially for old friends, is the game of Things, in which contestants try to determine who among the players supplied which answers to the round’s “Thing.” Qwirkle, Bananagrams, Charades – the list is endless. Add music, snacks and friends and you’ll have a great party!
Strut Your Stuff at Union Station. The holidays, however are a time to dress up, step out, and show off your best duds. Denver Union Station will feature three different celebrations to appeal to every taste, all with free admission and an array of drink specials. In the Great Hall, two of Colorado’s top DJ’s will battle it out. Looking for a more intimate feel? Head down to Terminal Bar’s Gallery located in the lower level of Union Station for vibrant, yet elegant jazz provided by Gypsy Swing Style Quartet. Cooper Lounge, Denver’s most elegant and lauded lounge, will also be taking reservations and providing guests with high-end cocktails and an extensive wine list.
Take in a Show
For a fantastic night out, try a trip to Golden, Denver’s very own mountain town neighbor. The super-cozy Miner’s Alley Playhouse will be hosting “A Magical History Tour” featuring Beatles music and more including food and libations. Or check out some of the critically acclaimed new eateries and brewpubs that Golden has to offer!
So never fear, even if you’re not the type who likes to “party til you drop” on New Year’s Eve, there are plenty of great ways to ring in the new year. Looking for a New Year’s resolution?
