You know what time of year it is, and with all the hustles and hassles of the season, sometimes it’s hard to remember to be jolly. Well one sure way to get in the holiday spirit or stay in the holiday spirit is to tour some of Denver’s incredible seasonal illuminations:
Zoo Lights: Don’t miss this Colorado classic! Every winter, the world-famous Denver Zoo turns itself into an 80-acre holiday lights extravaganza, with lights in the form of animals, animal ice sculptures, music, and plenty of events.
Denver City and County Building: Whether you’re heading there for an event like the Festival of Lights (Colorado Hebrew Chorale’s annual Hanukkah concert) or just to drive by and gawk, the building’s light display is a must-see. Every year, Denver City Council turns its regal marble headquarters into a spectacular splash of color.
Boondocks Winter Wonderland of Lights: Just north of the city in Northglenn, you’ll find Boondocks Fun Center, which has an arcade, bowling, and laser tag year-round. But when it’s too cold for go-kart races, their Winter Wonderland offers an outstanding light display which is fun for all ages.
Denver Neighborhood Displays: Keep an eye on this map; The Denver Post sets it up every year for Denverites to proudly post the locations of their own holiday lights in order to qualify for a prize from the Post and to allow the public tour Denver’s best neighborhood holiday decoration displays.
