Billing Group Agent

Job Description

Job Title: Billing Group Agent

Classification: Non-Exempt

Location: Admin

Reports to: Billing Group Manager

Summary: The Billing Group Agent focuses on the following elements of the revenue cycle: quality assurance of claims from doctors, timely submittal of claims to payers, consistent review of A/R aging, investigation, and management of unpaid claims to achieve payment as quickly as possible, and accurate posting of payments from insurance payers and patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review claims and encounters daily

• Submit claims in a timely manner, consistent with the requirements of insurance payers

• Review and maintain an assigned segment of Accounts Receivable

• Investigate and manage unpaid claims

• Process payments quickly

• Post payments accurately on the ledger

• Maintain low monthly count of claim rejections

• Maintain established metric of days A/R outstanding

• Follow up on claims throughout the life cycle

• Problem-solve and critically think through obstacles with billing team

• All other duties as assigned by Manager

Floating Optometric Technician

Job Description

Job Title: Floating Optometric Technician

Classification: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Office Manager

Summary: The Optometric Technician is the first clinical person a patient will interact with in the office. Through a warm introduction, review of LifeFit™ and pre-testing, the Technician is collecting data and aligning the patient’s reason(s) for their visit to our products and services. They are setting a tone of professionalism, technical expertise and trusted companion.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct work-ups for doctor’s patients according to established procedures and protocol
  • Perform diagnostic testing including but not limited to: Retinal Imaging (OPTOS), Visual Fields, Corneal
  • Topography, Auto Refractor, NCT, ICare, OCT and Tonometry
  • Explain all testing performed and educate the patient on process
  • Open and close exam rooms following established procedures
  • Assist front office in answering incoming phone calls, checking in patients for appointments

Job Title: Lead Patient Care Coordinator

    Essential Functions:

    Operations

    General & Medical Operations

    • Direct, supervise, and evaluate the work activities of the Front Desk, Optical, Technicians, and Doctors.
    • Review and analyze office activities and data to enact training and coaching for all departments
    • Understand and communicate company initiatives to all staff
    • Create and ensure efficient patient flow in office
    • Analyze the operations and processes of their office and innovate change and create successful outcomes
    • Use data and metrics to improve the patient experience and deliver exemplary customer service

    Job Title: Optician

    Summary: The optician is responsible for dispensing eyewear, such as spectacles, contact lens and other visual aids. Fill prescriptions written by Ophthalmologists or Optometrists. They assist the patient in choosing the frames and lenses best suited to the patient’s needs.

    Essential Functions:

    • Fill ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions, fit and adapt lenses and frames, utilizing written optical prescription.
    • Evaluate prescription in conjunction with the patient’s vocational and avocational visual requirements.
    • Determine patient’s current lens prescription, when necessary, using lensometer or lens analyzer and patient’s eyeglasses.
    • Use LifeFit™ approach.
    • Recommend specific lenses, lens coating, and frames to suit patient’s needs and doctor recommendations.
    • Assist patient in selecting frames according to style and color, coordinating frames with facial, eye measurements and optical prescription.
    • Measure patient’s bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, papillary distance, and optical centers of eyes, using company provided equipment.

    Essential Skills:

    • Proficient in a PC windows and MS Office environment
    • Proficient in use of English language both in written and verbal communication

    Summary: The purchasing agent works with opticians, patients, insurance companies, and vendors regarding optical ordering and processing of patient jobs. Point-of-contact for internal optical questions and troubleshooting.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Process optical jobs related to both insurance and stock using the established process

    Review of daily optical reports

    Review and correction of daily optical job details using Electronic Health Records (EHR) software

    Respond to optical questions from offices as well as labs

    Process and report all lens credits

    Track remakes through established process

    Transfer stock frame inventory between office locations

    Assist with quarterly inventory at office locations

    Assist with inventory reports and processing returns

    Technician

    Summary: The Optometric Technician is the first clinical staff member a patient will interact with in the office. Through a warm introduction, review of LifeFit™ and pre-testing, the Optometric Technician is collecting data and aligning the patient’s reason(s) for their visit to our products and services. They are setting a tone of professionalism, technical expertise and trusted companion.

    Essential Functions:

    • Conduct work-ups for doctor’s patients according to established procedures and protocol
    • Perform diagnostic testing including but not limited to: Retinal Imaging (OPTOS), Visual Fields, Corneal
    • Topography, Auto Refractor, NCT, ICare, OCT and Tonometry
    • Explain all testing performed and educate the patient on process
    • Open and close exam rooms following established procedures
    • Assist front office in answering incoming phone calls, checking in patients for appointments

    • Take patient calls regarding emergencies and questions and the utilization of Triage
    • Perform a thorough cleaning of exam rooms and equipment as needed
